The Winklevoss brothers, known for their dispute with Mark Zuckerberg’s original idea for Facebook, for months sent an application to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to create a pool of Bitcoin virtual currency and sell shares. The entry of the Winklevoss to this business could be a turning point for large-scale investments in this virtual currency, which is already used as a method of payment for many businesses.
The first Bitcoin ATM in Europe
A Finnish company placed an ATM in Helsinki and dispense the virtual currency that is becoming increasingly popular among consumers and dealers. The machine, installed by a local company called Prasos, can exchange euros for bitcoines, which are transferred to the digital portfolio of the buyer as the price of time. Many transactions and payments can be made online with this virtual money in an increasing number of merchants that accept bitcoins, although its launch has been overshadowed by the controversy it has caused in the global financial markets.
